Next Scotland Meeting: TBD at 7pm in the HS Auditorium
The Stow Drama program has been recognized for their excellent productions and dedication to
their craft. They were nominated to apply for and accepted to attend and perform at the Edinburgh (Scotland) Fringe Festival in August 2013.
This festival is the largest international theatre festival in the world. Only ~50 schools in the
US are accepted annually. The trip is approximately two weeks and
will include (preliminary schedule):
August 9th through August 23rd, 2013
Day 1-2: travel from Stow and arrive in London, UK; London tour
Day 3: sightseeing and West End Performance
Day 4: train to Edinburgh & tour
Day 5 & 6: rehearsals & shows
Day 7-12: performances, shows, sightseeing
Day 13: closing ceremonies
Day 14: return to Stow
Approximate cost for each participant will be $6000
this includes airfare, accommodations, most meals, transportation,etc
There are several fundraisers currently in progress to help offset the cost of the trip.
Mr. & Mrs. Putka will be going with the students (& 1 other adult so far), there will also be
onsite escorts throughout the trip. 9 students are currently actively signed up.
Students that wish to attend can either perform or work crew.
Students need to be in the 2013-2016 classes to perform or work crew.
Meetings are held approximately once per month to discuss the trip.
